The Beaver County District Attorney says that Ambridge police gave full cooperation and provided records in a timely manner, Ambridge Solicitor Richard Start said. According to a press release from the Ambridge Police Department: The Democratic primary for the Beaver County sheriff's seat isn't until 2015, but at least three people have announced their intention to run against Beaver County Sheriff George David. One candidate seeking the nomination is Economy resident Roger Kowal, who is also an Ambridge Area School Board member. By Larissa Dudkiewicz Ambridge likely won’t hire a new manager until October, but the borough is receiving expert help with the process. Council President Michael Mikulich announced that the board met Tuesday night with Michael Foreman, a local government policy specialist with the state Department of Community and Economic Development, who will facilitate the hiring using a merit-based system. State Rep. Rob Matzie's office is currently partnering with the Boy Scouts of America Laurel Highlands Council and the United Way of Beaver County to collect donations through July 25 for the Scouting for Food Drive. Matzie, D-Ambridge, said he was eager to participate in this annual community-wide effort, which collected more than 300,000 units of food last year, because of the need present in Beaver County. A local contractor says he was unfairly targeted by Baden's building code officer and cited for several alleged violations. Mike Hribar, owner of Economy-based Pittsburgh Hardscapes, told council Monday that building code officer Joe Luff shut down his work site two weeks ago, preventing him from replacing a retaining wall at a Virginia Avenue home. |
