Week 1 BTW Pop Up: Just Jump
We had a great time! Fifty kids, if you include my two youngest kids, came out to Just Jump and have a tough man contest. I ended dividing the group in to older and younger kids to give everyone time to enjoy the inflatables.
The contest was push up , sit ups, and squats for the older kids and just a basic dynamic warm up for the younger kids. We had 2 disagreements with the older kids but with love we were able to work it out. Big thank you for the adults who came out and watch their own kids and the adults who volunteered their time. |
Week 2 BTW Pop Up: Football and Cheer
The weather held out for us ! It stormed in the morning and stopped for us to have a rain free pop up event! Forty-seven kids come out to participate in a fundamental football camp and cheer camp. Bonus we had Ambridge Fire Station come over with a fire truck for the kids to jump for a tour, beep horn , and turn on
Week 3 BTW Pop Up: Old Economy Village |
We met up at the local historic museum and learn about the Harmony Society . The rain had the ground wet so we were indoors

Week 6 BTW Pop Up: Archery
Hot day ? No problem! Thanks to the Ambridge Fire Department! They cooled the kids off with only the best way possible for turning on the hose but from above. The kids took turns from learning how to shoot a bow and arrow from Pennsylvania Game Commission Instructor James Blanrick and his wife Kathy. We started day with freeze tag, then archery , and played in the water!
We kept cool day with a few cases of Gatorade donated from Perfect 10 Gymnastics long with Ice to keep it cold. We had donation from a former fireman who gave us $50 so we reloaded on good character prizes.
The Good Character prizes go to kids who are just being good citizens. Something they did that caught the eye of one of the adult volunteers we awarded them with a simple thank you gift of their choice out of the prize bag. Fun Fore All in Cranberry donates a bunch of gift cards that made it in to the prize bag this week !
Next up Hockey with the Olympian !

BIG THANKS to Ambridge Police Department and especially Patrolman Zadock Dismuke for "breaking the divide" and helping plan the day with Community Resource Officer Jason Seng. The kids toured the police department and climbed in and out the police car turned on the siren and spoke into the microphone. Officer Seng thank you for answering all of the questions and bringing a welcoming face for the kids. Love that the Ambridge Fire department Donnie Larrick assisted with firing up the grill and cooking hotdogs for all the kids. Also for having a question and answer session about fire safety for the kids. Thank you Perfect 10 Gymnastics for the $50 donation to allow us to purchase gifts for kids who displayed good behavior and character. Great day. Great Kids. We are all learning to improve on behaviors each day -- even the kids who got in trouble spoke with me afterward to make things better. Love it when it feels like a community #takesavillage #bewhoyouneeded Side note WPXI-TV Pittsburgh Amy Marcinkiewicz was at the police station and took a few picture of active, positive activity in Ambridge. Not sure if it is considered newsworthy, we can just hope. #HelpChangeOurPreception Thank you for the donating two hours out of your day!#FeelingBlessed #livingInGod'sGrace See a quick video: https://www.facebook.com/briannemcl/videos/1460544533971292/ Click link to see more pictures : https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10154351520987806.1073741836.614572805&type=1&l=1c46ce0c43 |
