Come join us at Old Economy Village for a good ol’ fashioned American Celebration. On June 24th, Old Economy Village will be hosting An American Celebration, an event filled with all the American classics: cars, picnics, music
, games and races! This year will be jam packed with activities and entertainment, starting with a sack race and ending with our first Old Economy Village pie eating contest. Additionally, we will have classic picnic games for families, such as ring toss and find the magic duck. Musical entertainment will be ongoing throughout the day, which will provide a lovely soundtrack to this year’s American Celebration. The performance area will be hosted in our gardens, providing space for various local musicians including the talented performers from the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. Lastly, there will be a variety of vendors and demonstrators in many of our buildings.

Speaking of a good time and great performers, River City Brass will return to Old Economy Village for another evening of joyous music on August 20th, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available on our website and at our visitor’s center for $15.00 each. River City Brass will perform in the gardens and guests are encouraged to bring a lawn blanket or alternative seating. Picnic baskets and beverages of your choice are welcome in the gardens. As always, we can’t wait to see you at our events this summer – don’t be late!

Old Economy Village is a historic site of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The site preserves and presents the life, thought, and material culture of the Harmony Society, a highly successful and entrepreneurial 19th century religious community.  Old Economy was the heart of the Harmony Society’s community of Economy from 1824 until the commune was dissolved in 1905.  It is part of Ambridge’s Economy National Historic Landmark, and is among the region’s most important historic sites.  Old Economy Village is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and is actively supported by the Friends of Old Economy Village which is a non-profit community-based organization.
