Beemac Trucking LLC has been awarded a $375,000 state grant to purchase 15 new trucks that run on compressed natural gas. The state grant, which was awarded by the state Department of Environmental Protection, will be used to help transition Beemac's heavy-duty fleet to natural gas-powered vehicles. Starting Feb. 1, every resident of Ambridge borough will be able to visit Old Economy Village free of charge. Michael Knecht, site administrator at Old Economy, said the program will run for the rest of 2015. "It's a program we're calling the Ambridge Borough Resident Pass," Knecht said. "What we're looking at is providing every Ambridge borough resident with a free pass to visit Old Economy throughout the year." A new concept in boxing will open in Harmony Township this year.
