Local police are warning residents to lock their car doors after a rash of recent vehicle break-ins.
In Harmony Township, police said someone rifled through four vehicles, two in the 800 block of Ridge Road and two on Laurel Alley and Stephens Street, making off with electronics and other items. Residents can drop off unused prescription drugs for proper disposal.  Residents can drop off old and unused prescription drugs on Saturday at several nearby locations, no questions asked.
The Beaver County District Attorney's office and several nearby police departments are taking part in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's "Drug Take-Back Day." Tax credits are available to restore and transform structures into income-producing properties.  State Rep. Rob Matzie is encouraging eligible people and businesses to apply for a new program that offers tax credits to restore historic structures and transform them into income-producing properties.
Fifteen residents from various backgrounds and communities within the Ambridge Area School District were recently appointed to serve on a citizen's advisory board.
