Northbound Route 65 at the Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge has reopened to traffic. The roadway has been closed since Tuesday, May 9 due to a truck striking a water line attached to the bridge. Crews completed barrier installation, temporary repairs to the water line supports, and inspections of the bridge and water line. The roadway will remain open until permanent repairs can be made. Motorists are advised to use caution and slow down when traveling through the area.

Motorists are advised to use caution and slow down when traveling through the area. The annual Envirothon hosted by Beaver County Conservation District was held at Brady's Run Park on Wed., May 10.
Ambridge Jr High girls team brought home a first place trophy replacing 2016 memory of losing first place by 3 points according to Don Ayers, eighth-grade Integrated Science, and Honors Teacher. The boys jr high team took the fourth place trophy in their first year of competition. Old Economy Village in Ambridge will be open from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Mother’s Day. Mother’s will be admitted free as a way to celebrate their special day. Tours of the Village leave the Visitor’s Center at 270 Sixteenth Street, Ambridge, PA at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, and 3:00 pm

Western Pennsylvania Soap Box Derby will host National Qualifying Soap Box Derby Race in Ambridge on 14th street Ambridge Senior, Brooklyn Kotula was named the winner of the Ambridge Italian Women’s Club scholarship.
The club was founded in 1933 celebrating Italian Heritage. The Object of this club is to bring together women with a view of making them helpful to each other and to develop the education, civic, and social interests of its members and to advance the welfare of the community. The rules changed for Track and Field athletes this year in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL). Instead of regional qualifying meets, in each event, athletes with the 24 best regular-season marks in Class AAA and the best 16 in Class AA will qualify for the WPIAL championship meet.
The WPIAL is made up of 10 counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington, and Westmoreland and is governed by the Constitution and By-Laws of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association ( PIAA). There are are 51 schools in the AAA Track classification . The following Ambridge Athletes qualified based on based on times/distances achieved throughout the 2016 –2017 regular season . |
