​A message from AMBRIDGE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT

Ambridge high school basketball coach Mark Jula completely fixed up Anthony Wayne Terrace basketball court in Baden. Thursday evening he held a dedication ceremony at the court naming it the BRETT JULA COURT in honor of their beloved son Brett who passed away 6 months ago. ​

​Ambridge, PA- The Borough was awarded a $5,000 grant from Preservation Pennsylvania that will conduct a Feasibility Study that aims to save the endangered Old Economy Bachelor’s Quarters building located at 284 13thStreet in the Borough’s Historic District.  The Feasibility Study, currently being conducted by Pittsburgh-based, Cochran Associates, will determine the scope of the project’s renovations, create an end-user plan, determine public benefits that could be realized, create a funding strategy to facilitate the rehabilitation and renovation work and lastly create renderings of the proposed final projec

We are very sad to report the passing of area singing legend B.E. Taylor. The 65-year-old musician was born and raised in Aliquippa, and hosted popular Christmas concerts throughout the region every year.
According to reports, Taylor had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in 2007, but he continued to perform and write music up until very recently.
As a local connection, Taylor invited members of the Ambridge Area High School Steel Drum Band to perform at several of his area Christmas shows each fall. He is pictured below with members of the steel band backstage prior one of their performances last fall at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh.
