The following local teachers were nominated:
Greg Helsel, Carrie Quinn, Nicole Darroch of Ambridge Area School District and Sara Pichelli, Julie Jack and Taylor Bianco of Baden Academy.
The Golden Apple Gala was attended by 135 guests who enjoyed a casual reception on May 16 hosted to celebrate each of the nominees..
Olivia Benson, committee chairwomen of the 2015 Golden Apple Gala said, "The Prevention Network could not be more excited to honor the amazing teachers in our region. Our agency recognizes that the region’s teachers go above and beyond every day to ensure the well-being and the development of our students. This is our chance, to say ‘thank you’."
Jeremy Angus, president and CEO of The Prevention Network said, "The hard work that a teacher does each day for students many times, goes unrecognized, at least publicly. The Prevention Network & CLASS Academy feel it is important to give back and say ‘thank you’ and to recognize the amazing work that teachers do for the counties students. They deserve to hear how much we appreciate them every chance we get, the Golden Apple Award, is one of our chances."

(5-8) Winner: Jody Shugert, Beaver Area School District
(9-12) Winner: Suzanne DiPietrantonio, Central Valley School District
