Tom Antolic was in a skiing accident eight years ago and since then got back on the slopes working with Three Rivers Adaptive Sports(TRAS). TRAS provides sports and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities. Antolic wanted to give back organizations that helped him. In 2014 he teamed up with Tick Tock, and together yearly, they host the Wheel Chair Santa Bar Crawl.
"He is my best friend, and the strength he projects inspires all of us," shared Jake Bajek, Tick Tock Manager. " If we can help out the groups that have helped him along the way and have fun while doing it, that is a blessing."
This year Antolic picked The Pittsburgh Steelwheelers to benefit from the money raised from the crawl. The Pittsburgh Steelwheelers provide programs for physically challenged athletes who desire to participate in competitive sports such as Quad Rugby, Wheelchair Basketball, and Hand Cycling.
The crawl spans over 1-mile; the participants donate money, dress in festive Christmas gear, and visit different locations, all while relying on a wheelchair for transportation.
This year's locations included Tick Tock, Hark's Place, Ambridge Eagles, Bridgetown Taphouse, Alexanders and Fred's Divot Each local business raised funds for the charity before and during the visit.
