The Ambridge High School boys and girls soccer teams kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness month by wearing pink T-shirts.
Proceeds of the T-shirt sale benefits a local young mother undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The boys varsity soccer team is currently undefeated in their section, holding the first place spot. During Pittsburgh Fashion Week, Ambridge High School seniors Albert Smith and Sabrina Marticek walked the runway wearing styles by Debra Weiss fashion during the fire and ice show.

Ambridge Area School District has created an Athletic Yearly Sports Pass that gives a blanket pass to every regular season home game. Fans can purchase the Yearly Sports Pass during school hours only. Ambridge Varsity Volleyball team participated in the ALS ice bucket challenge.

Shawn Besong resigned effective Aug. 8 from the position after serving as the district’s athletic director since 2012. He has taken a teaching position with the Midland-based PA Cyber Charter School, officials said. By Felicia Mycyk
