On Saturday, Feb. 25 around 10:24 p.m., Ambridge police found themselves surrounding the high school. .

According to Ambridge police, the person pictured reached over the counter at Rite Aid and removed $140 from an unoccupied cash register. He left the store headed toward the Ohio River on foot.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program give the scouts an opportunity to conduct buying/selling transactions, handle money, build their presentation and conversation skills, keep records, set up product displays, manage inventory, and more noted on Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania. This year will be the 100th year of Girl Scouts selling cookies a tradition that started in Oklahoma school bake sale in 1917. The new year brings a new cookie called "Girl Scout S’mores." The Ambridge Area High School Steel Drum Band has begun a fundraising campaign to help the group with ongoing expenses and transportation needs. The group, which is celebrating its 30th year, is hoping to raise at least $5,000 over the course of the next month

Ambridge Rotary Club raised funds and received a matching grant to have lights installed at the courts. According to the Ambridge Borough Manager, Joe Kauer, a service panel was added inspected and received approval to be energized. The next step is done by Duquesne Light.
