Duquesne Light Co. has issued a warning about a scam artist who is targeting customers. Joey Vallarian, Duquesne Light spokesman, said a few customers have reported receiving calls stating that if payment isn’t made immediately, their service will be terminated the same day. The callers are also directing customers to purchase “pre-paid” credit cards to pay off the alleged amount, he said. "Duquesne Light does not call customers on the day of a scheduled termination for non-payment, nor does it ask customers to purchase these pre-paid type payment cards," Vallarian said in a statement. If customers receive one of these calls, the company asks that they hang up, call Duquesne Light at 412-393-7100, and alert the police. Like Ambridge Connection on Facebook. Follow us on Twitter.
