Jim Tressel is the president of Youngstown State University and from 2001 to 2010 was head football coach at Ohio State University. Above is a tweet he sent out on social media via Twitter on Wednesday. This week, Ambridge Area had two former college football coaches speak about the future success for students.
Jim Tressel, Youngstown State University president and former head coach at Ohio State University--where he won the national championship and seven Big Ten championships--shared his message of success.
"You need to surround yourself with quality people, especially your friends, along with working a plan and setting goals," was the message that Neil Tkatch, high school guidance counselor, shared from the speech.
Teachers, coaches, principals and community members say it every day, but when someone who is seen as a celebrity says it, the message may reach different students.
Tressel has two books published "The Winners Manual: for the Game of Life and Life Promises for Success."

Darnell Carter II and Darnell Carter Smokin Jim Frazier, Pittsburgh Sportsline TV co-host, said it was excellent information sharing what he learned about the recruitment process and what Dinkins showed was realistic.
Rick Cunnard, father of two current athletes in the district, came with his wife. Cunnard shared that with both programs this week at Ambridge, it showed him that Ambridge is really trying to turn things around.
Each family who attended received free SAT and ACT Test Preparation programs.
