Authorized Public Display of the proposed 2017 Borough Budget - balanced spending plan, $4,493,024.72 in revenue and expenditures. No tax increase proposed - 12th year without an increase in Borough real estate tax millage.
Hired Alexis Korol, Lucas Sedar and Darren Jones as part-time police officers.
Recognized the Michalik Family with a proclamation in honor of the service of the late Richard "Corky" Michalik. An active community volunteer and board member of the Ambridge Water Authority.
Borough Engineer reported that work on the repair to the inlet at the corner of Maplewood Avenue and 8th Street is currently underway, and that specifications for the 2017 Road Program have been finished. Roads planned to be repaved in Ambridge in 2017 include:
1. PENNDOT will resurface all of Route 65 in Ambridge Borough
2. 1st Street (Maplewood to Merchant)
3. Merchant St. (1st to 3rd St.)
4. Glenwood Dr. (3rd to California Alley)
5. Elm Road (4th to 5th)
6. 11th St (Lenz to Beaver)
7. 13th St (Lenz to Beaver)
8. Dell Alley (Lenz to Beaver)
9. Duss Ave (4th St to 6th St)
10. Merchant St (10th to 11th Sts)
11. Merchant St (Henrici to Rt. 65)
12. 8th St (Beaver to Pine)
13. 5th St (Pine to Wilson – correcting separated centerline joint in middle of block)
14. Port Ambridge Intersection at Industry Drive and Century Drive
