The Ambridge Area School District recently accepted two special donations courtesy of the Ambridge High School class of 1962.
Five classmates attended the school board workshop meeting to present $1,500 and a watercolor painting of the old high school building.
The funds will be used to improve the video announcement program throughout the high school building with the addition of more televisions and monitors.
Russo said the classmates wanted to give back to the high school that gave them all "a very good education."
"I think all of us here have been able to make very good lives for ourselves and we just felt it would be nice to give something back,” Russo said.
Jim Rosenbeger grew up on the Old Economy end of Ambridge and his wife Andrea (Denisiuk) Rosenberger, also a member of the '62 class, grew up on Beaver Road.
Andrea Rosenberger painted the watercolor, which will hang in the high school guidance office.
“We felt we got a great education here and we hope to be able to keep the tradition going,” Jim Rosenberger said.
