Ambridge Area High School Boys Basketball traveled about 4,000 miles to Wasilla, Alaska not only to compete in a tournament but to build on team relationships and have an experience of a lifetime shared Head Coach Mark Jula.

Last year Coach Jula had the team travel to Arizona for the Cactus Jam Basketball Tournament and this year they are competing in Alaska at the Doc Larson's Roundball Classic.
Eight teams are in the tournament with five that are from Alaska and three from outside Alaska, which include Henderson, Nevada and Portland, Oregon.
"Every team here would be a good to excellent AAAA team in the WPIAL. The team from Las Vegas has three guys 6'8". The Barrow team from ALASKA has a 6'9" sophomore who handles the ball. " added Jula
The team is staying at a family house that sleeps 20.
"This is, by far, the best experience I've ever had with a team. A once in a lifetime experience." Jula added.

Round 1 Ambridge lost to Lincoln Cardinals of Portland, Oregon 71 to 53.
Next game will be against an Alaska team Colony.
