Highlights of the 2017 Budget include reestablishing animal control services in the Borough, restructuring the Code Enforcement program into the Fire Department and multiple capital improvements including:
- 2017 Road Program (14 Streets)
- Traffic Signal Upgrades along Merchant St. (partially grant funded)
- Design of the Merchant St. Streetscape Project
- New fire apparatus, a police cruiser and a public works dump-truck (partially grant funded) and a tractor.
- Commercial Demolitions of blighted structures (grant funded)

“The 2017 Budget is a strategic investment in our community; it dedicates funding for significant infrastructure improvements including roads and traffic signals, new public safety and public works equipment, sustains Borough operations, staffing, and keeps taxes steady for the twelfth year in a row,” stated Council President Michael A. Ambridge, PA – At their regularly scheduled December 13th Meeting, the Borough Council adopted the 2017 Borough Budget. The $4,493,024.72 balanced spending plan does not increase taxes, keeps the millage at 34.5 mills for the 12th consecutive year.
