In a fundraising letter, Mulcahy said the work turned out to be a more expensive project, due to the additional work that had to be done to help the new system work more effectively and be brought up to code.
The library is now working to raise $128,000. Each donation given, no matter how small, will help the library continue to be a pillar in the community.
Donations are tax deductible and can be mailed or dropped off to the library, 99 11th Street, Ambridge PA 15003. Checks can be made out to Laughlin Memorial Library with "Boiler Fund" in the memo.
