The Beaver County District Attorney says that Ambridge police gave full cooperation and provided records in a timely manner, Ambridge Solicitor Richard Start said.
According to a press release from the Ambridge Police Department:
The petition does not say when that communication was made or who gave it to whom at the police department. Finally, it alleges that the funds involved are being held in a safety deposit box rented by Ambridge, but the district attorney’s petition does not attach copies of any such violated court orders, according to the statement from the police department.
“Today, neither Mayor D’Ambrosio nor Chief Mann know of any court order that has been violated,”
In 2012, Ambridge Mayor D’Ambrosio met with Police Chief James Mann to discuss a safety deposit box containing money and property seized by the department during its regular course of operation. Chief Mann investigated the matter and located the department’s key to that box.

The Mayor and Chief still believe that the DA, the police department and possibly other departments in the courthouse need to be involved in conducting the inventory process. Neither alone has the ability to perform this task efficiently and accurately.
Resolving all that must be done with the contents of this box makes it impossible to complete this work before Berosh leaves office.
Therefore, before receiving this petition, Mann spoke with DA-elect David Lozier about the box and the need for the Ambridge police department and the DA’s office to cooperate to complete an inventory of the box and obtain a court-ordered disposition of those contents.
Lozier agreed that he and his staff would get together with the mayor and Chief Mann to work this out.
Mayor D’Ambrosio and Chief Mann continue to look forward to working with the DA to obtain the proper court orders commanding the disposition of this box’s contents.
