In 2016, Ambridge Borough Council and Mayor provided each household in the Borough with a new standard Recycling Bin. Prior to this, there hasn't been a uniform recycling bin for over a decade; resulting in many households not recycling.
In 2015 before the issuance of the new bins, curbside collections of recyclables in Ambridge collected 126 tons. With the help of the citizenry using the new bins and following our easy "Ambridge Recycles" flyers, recycling collections in 2016 more than DOUBLED! 2016 residential curbside collections totaled over 287 tons of recyclables that were taken out of landfills and reused!
In conjunction with commercial properties, leaf composting, and Christmas Tree recycling - over 552 tons of product was recycled in Ambridge in 2016.
We thank everyone for participating and doing their part to make our community more sustainable.
