An Ambridge Grandfather and grandson were recognized over the weekend because of the grandson's award-winning essay.
Dylan and Dean Rogers were honored as part of the 2015 Father's Heart Award Celebration on Saturday at the Community College of Beaver County.

The annual event is sponsored by the Fatherhood Initiative of Beaver County and Project Star at The Children's Institute.
Dylan was nominated for an essay he wrote about his grandfather as an honoree in the Father's Heart Award essay contest. He received the 2015 Father's Heart Award. His grandfather , Dean, received a Recognition of Honor.
The selection committee read nearly 200 essays about great fathers and grand fathers who are making a difference in the lives of their children and country.
Dylan wrote the following about his grandfather :
"My Pops makes me feel amazing and loved when he spends time with me and sits down and talks to me. I like when he plays with us kids. He helps his family and does everything even as he battles Parkinson's disease. .. He helps everyone, like neighbors when there was flooding. If it wasn't for POPS I would not be the young man I am today!"
