Fifteen residents from various backgrounds and communities within the Ambridge Area School District were recently appointed to serve on a citizen's advisory board.
School Board President Mary Jo Kehoe said at Wednesday's board meeting that the advisory committee will give recommendations to the school board, which is free to accept or reject the suggestions.
Those chosen make up a cross section of the district, Kehoe said. Three members were picked from each of the district's five communities to make up the advisory board.
"We have had many emails and conversations with various members of the community wishing to serve on an advisory committee."
