The 5th grade students at State Street Elementary participated in the Edgar Snyder “My Holiday Wish” coloring contest. Students were encouraged to draw and write about wishes for helping others and spreading positivity.
Baker's artwork and wish—that everyone in the world would get along—was chosen as a runner-up in this year's contest and will be featured on the back of Edgar Snyder holiday card and a billboard. In addition, she won a $100 VISA gift card and a $1,000 donation to State Street Elementary School.
According to the firms website The contest, which is open to western and central Pennsylvania elementary school students, runs every year from September through the end of October. Students are asked to draw their holiday wish.
An independent panel of judges selects the final winning artwork, which is comprised of a grand prize winner and three runners up. When making their decision, the judges take into consideration the creativity of the design, the quality of the artwork, and the message the drawing portrays, among other factors.
