Not only is Villella pumped about the forecast—temperatures are supposed to be in the near 30s—she’s also excited about the larger number
Last year, Ambridge’s first event had 25 businesses passing out samples of various wines and chocolates to the 80 visitors who joined the walk.
“Our goal this year was 30 businesses,” said Villella, owner of Una Bella Beauty and Wellness Studio, 611 Merchant St. “We have 33 businesses participating,” she said.
New this year is the shuttle bus, which will take people from one end of town to the other.
“If they’re tired of walking and have to get back to their car, it’s a courtesy bus,” Villella said.
The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m., followed by a happy hour at 6 p.m. in the Old Economy Village Visitor’s Center. Ambridge singer and songwriter Jim Tobin will play live music and every participating business is donating a basket for raffles, including Pittsburgh Steelers tickets. Each person on the walk will receive a ticket for a chance to win a grand prize of a large wine and cheese basket.
Tickets cost $15 each or two for $25, and are available at the following locations: the Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce office, 562 Merchant St.; John Dunn Insurance Agency, 619 Merchant St.; and Una Bella, 611 Merchant St.
Villella said tickets can also be purchased the day of the event at the chamber, which is organizing the event. So far, 150 tickets have been sold.
“We hope to sell 200 tickets,” she said.
