The Greek Food Festival at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Ambridge kicks off today, July 15 and runs through Saturday, July 19.
The Greek Food Festival is most famous for its outstanding and delicious Greek food, said Anna Lillios, secretary at Holy Trinity.
In addition to gyros and stuffed grape leaves, festival-goers can enjoy Greek chicken, shish-ka-bobs, pastitsio, moussaka, spinach and cheese pie, and, of course, lamb.
"Top your dinner off with Greek pastries: baklava, rice pudding, custard in phyllo called 'galatoboureko,' powdered sugar cookies, and so much more," Lillios said.
Plus, there is always Greek music in the air from speakers in the dining room, a DJ under the tent and live Greek Music in the evenings.
"Our Hellenic Dancers are a colorful entertainment at scheduled performances and invite the crowd to join them with some simple steps."
Join in the fun at the church grounds or swing by for take-out orders by calling 724-266-9753 between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, July 15-19. OPA!
