In 2013, 'Beat for Life' started as a fundraiser to help the Marcello “Mars” Scarrazzo , owner of Mars Drums in Ambridge, with medical and funeral expenses for his son Marco Scarrazzo.
The group has reorganized and now has a new mission to help out school music programs.
"The music program throughout the county are suffering" shared Patrick Escoto, Beat for Life chair, and member of The Mudslinger Band.
"These are the programs that made us who we are."
Saturday, September 19th the group will raise money for Ambridge High School Steel Drum Band by having a charity mixer.
Line up of entertainment includes current and former students from Ambridge High School along with a Steel Drum Band Director , Todd Hartman.
