Beaver Valley Floral is planning a grand re-opening this weekend following a New Year's Eve fire that destroyed the previous shop in Baden.
Owner Ray Kurash said the floral business has been relocated to a new street-level store front at 601 State St., Baden, across from Louise School of Dance.
Beaver Valley Floral was one of two businesses damaged on Dec. 31 when a fire broke out at the building, one of the oldest in Baden.
Beaver Valley Floral will celebrate its grand opening from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9. Refreshments and free gifts will be given to the first 100 visitors. The shop plans to be open seven days a week.
Kurash, who has been in business since Aug. 1, 1981, has also hired Cristina Aloe as the store's manager. Cristina majored in musical theater and received her bachelor's degree of fine arts from the University of The Arts in Philadelphia.
"You will find Cristina bright, knowledgeable and enthusiastic," Kurash said in a letter to customers. "Cristina is well versed in the arts of floral design," he said.
