Beemac Trucking's original plan to send one truck to Houston changed when the generosity and thoughtfulness of the community became overwhelming.
"The outpouring from private citizens and corporations has been phenomenal," said Michael Ceravolo Vice President, Supply Chain Solutions at Beemac Logistics. "We had folks stopping by offering cash donations and supplies, toys. Also, corporations who said 'we want to help. We have pallets of water, food,' whatever the case. We are coordinating with those companies to make pick-ups around the city of Pittsburgh and Beaver County--you name it, all of the regions."
Loren Dworakowski, President at Beemac Trucking in Harmony Township, said it costs a little more than $3,000 a load.
"It will depend on when our truck gets there and gets unloaded. We are even looking at possibly other depot stops that we have not coordinated, but maybe we can help out with the trucking,"
Dworakowski said, "we are seeing if there is an opportunity or help that people need. Maybe they have a lot of aid, but can't arrange transportation or have the transportation to get there."
"As we talk in the community, I can see this going on for a few weeks." added Dworakowski

Non Perishable food Items, Bottled Water, Diapers, Wipes, Bottles, formula, playpens, cribs, toys, power tools, ladders, chainsaws, fans, cleaning supplies , gloves, buckets, mops, building materials/lumber, furniture in clean and usable condition, bedding- sheets, pillow, cases, comforters
