Last spring, the Bridger Readers started tutoring students in Ambridge primary grades K-2 to help young readers flourish.

Kathy Andrews, who initiated the Bridger Reader program, said this year the schools would like to try an "adopt a classroom" format so that a tutor will focus on the struggling readers in one classroom.
The growing program will continue to provide one-on-one tutoring and can always use more tutors, she said.
Anyone who would like become a Bridger Reader tutor can contact Angie Gradek at [email protected]. She will send you the two clearance forms that are needed.
Andrews said Gradek has kindly offered to be the contact person for the startup.
Just like last year, there will be a meeting at the school to discuss the tutoring method and to set up the calendar. In general, a tutor selects a day(s) and tutors from 9-11 a.m.
"Because tutors work with several students consecutively, the time really flies by," Andrews said.
