Ambridge defeated Mars 46 to 45 on Friday night.
Roman Shell and Daylon Carter picked up two early fouls and Ambridge came out to a slow start.
The Mars Planets took a small lead into halftime. The third quarter started off the same way and all the momentum was with the Mars Planets and the Bridgers were in a deep hole.
The Bridgers were able to dig in with a lot of defensive plays and two clutch three-point shots by the senior guard Ty Hendon. The fourth quarter was close all the way through. Carter and Darius Lawrence steadied the comeback and when Mars came up short on a last attempt three-pointer, it was an Ambridge win.
Ambridge will face Indiana on Tuesday Feb. 24 at 6 pm in Fox Chapel
