advertisement On Tuesday, members of Ambridge Council, borough staff, executives and employees from Cobblestone Inn and Suites and their investors officially opened the newly constructed 31-room hotel in town with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Ambridge’s Cobblestone Inn is located at 1111 New Economy Drive, at the corner of New Economy Drive and 11th Street. The new hotel is easily accessible from Merchant Street or the Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge.
The hotel was developed on a former brownfield site, a location of a once abandoned industrial facility that has been reclaimed and cleared for community redevelopment.
The Cobblestone Inn and Suites features 31 rooms, a hot breakfast buffet, free weekday newspaper and high-speed internet service, a beer and wine bar and on-site exercise equipment.
“It is interesting and worth pointing out that Cobblestone holds themselves to the motto 'Big City Quality, Small Town Values' and us here in Ambridge speak to our 'Proud Past – Bright Future.' Both principles speak volumes of how our citizens and businesses view, and hope to continue to grow, our community," Ambridge Council President Michael Mikulich said in a news release.
"This hotel now sits as a welcoming destination to many travelers to Ambridge and the Greater- Pittsburgh area, and as a community, we welcome Cobblestone Inn and Suites to Ambridge; wishing them many wonderful and prosperous years here,” Mikulich said.
Cobblestone Inn and Suites first opened in January of 2008, and has 69 hotels open or under construction in 13 states. They also have 50 additional hotels in the development stages across the United States.
