A local Soapbox Derby racer from the Ambridge area is now in Akron, Ohio for the All-American Soapbox Derby race. Children from all the world attend this annual race to compete.
Eddie Johnston is from Baden and attends Economy Elementary School. He was the stock race winner in the event held Ambridge on June 6. He received a $500 scholarship and $1,500 in cash to help cover expenses during race week.
The week long event brings out hundreds of racers from all over the United States and several countries, all competing for their chance to win the big race Saturday at Derby Down.
Let’s show our local boy home town support. He deserves it.
