Economy resident and Ambridge graduate Mattie Morrow continues his winning streak in local cook-offs.
Morrow was named the 2014 Harmony Township Volunteer Fire Department Chili Cook Off champion and swept the individual division in the 2014 Ambridge American Eagles Wing Cook Off.
On Sunday, Morrow participated in the ninth annual Vanport Chili Cook Off, with the proceeds benefiting the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department. The competition brought out 11 contestants, who competed in two categories, "The Valley's Best Chili" and "Best Display."
Restaurants, caterers and individuals were eligible to compete to see who makes the best chili and who had the best table display. Winners received trophies and cash prizes for first, second, and third places in both competitions.
Voting was done by the people who attended the function in Vanport.
