Economy is preparing for paving season, and announced a list of roads the borough intends to work on.
Council voted Tuesday to authorize the borough engineer to prepare advertising and seek bids.

Council voted Tuesday to authorize the borough engineer to prepare advertising and seek bids.
advertisement Councilman Gary Bucuren, public works chairman, said once contracts are awarded, work will start on the designated roads. The total work is estimated to cost about $550,000.
Roads to be contracted for paving are: Ridgewood Drive, Sherwood Drive, Willow Drive, Sunset Hills Drive, including intersections; First Street from Conway Wallrose Road to the ballfields; Lynn Street from First Street to the concrete curbing adjacent to Junior High School; and Shaffer Road from Big Sewickley Creek Road to Woodlawn Drive.
Borough workers will begin in-house paving on the following roadways: Tevebaugh Hollow Road from Conway Wallrose Road to Third Street; a section of the upper portion of Kenneth Campbell Drive; Ann and Clara streets adjacent to Merriman Road; and portions of Compton Road, Amsler Road, Hillsdale Avenue and Greenforest Drive. The road crew has already completed Beaver Road next to the Northern Lights shopping center.
Bucuren said depending on how bids come in, the borough could pave additional streets and lots.
