A road worker in Economy who was fired last year has been reinstated to his job.
Borough officials confirmed that Earl Fitzgerald is back to work in his position as a road worker in Economy.
Council later fired him in October on the same day that he filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the borough and several elected officials.
The Teamsters filed a grievance on Fitzgerald’s behalf and an arbitrator recently sided with the Teamsters, that Fitzgerald’s job be restored.
Economy Manager Randy Kunkle said Fitzgerald started back to work on Tuesday, May 4 in his last position as road worker.
Officials would not comment further on the matter due to pending litigation.
