According to news reports, Arthur A. Bell Jr., 54, of Center Township, was struck by a vehicle shortly before 6 a.m. Aug. 6 while riding his bicycle on Route 51 in Hopewell, near the South Heights border.
The Allegheny County medical examiner's office determined Bell died later the same day of head and neck injuries. His death was ruled accidental.
Hopewell Township police have not said whether charges will be filed, according to reports.
A “ghost bike” memorial--a bicycle painted in white--is commonly placed to honor cyclists at or near a site where a fatal accident occurs.
Bell is the third bicyclist since 2013 to be struck and killed after colliding with vehicles on Route 51.
Hopewell Township police have not said whether charges will be filed, according to WPXI-TV.
