A makeshift "ghost bike" memorial was placed on Route 51 in memory of a bicyclist who died after being hit by a vehicle last Thursday.
According to news reports, Arthur A. Bell Jr., 54, of Center Township, was struck by a vehicle shortly before 6 a.m. Aug. 6 while riding his bicycle on Route 51 in Hopewell, near the South Heights border.
The Allegheny County medical examiner's office determined Bell died later the same day of head and neck injuries. His death was ruled accidental.
Hopewell Township police have not said whether charges will be filed, according to reports.
