The Ambridge Volunteer Fire Department will host their first golf outing on Sat. June 10.
This event will aid the Ambridge VFD in purchasing a new thermal imaging camera. Thermal imaging cameras increase firefighter safety. The camera provides information to the fire attack crew that they did not previously have due to poor visibility and building construction. Using this information, firefighters can immediately direct water to the seat of the fire and ensure that their hose streams are working effectively. A thermal imager can also help firefighters locate and isolate hidden fires, such as electrical fires behind walls.

Golfers can register to win gift certificates and prizes and will play four-person scramble.
" We have ten teams right now it would be great to get at least five more" shared Dave Gorecki, Fire Captain and Code Enforcement.
Gorecki added "We sweetened up the deal a little bit."
Everyone who golfs will receive a welcome a prefilled cooler filled with beer, Gatorade, and water.
"We have also acquired hole in one prize for all par 3s. That means your foursome has chances to win $5,000 cash, a 50" TV, an Apple iPad, or $500 in Adidas golf gear. Each of the par 3s will have a different prize on top of closest to the pin. "
