But before Ash Wednesday comes Fat Tuesday, better known as Pączki Day in Ambridge.
Good Samaritan Parish will carry on its annual tradition of selling pączki—homemade sugared doughnuts—from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17 while supplies last.
Walk-ins are welcome, but the delicious treats have sold out before 2 p.m. in the past, so the parish highly recommends placing orders in advance.
To order, call the paczki hotline at 724-266-8522. Leave a message, including your name, how many dozen you'd like, what time you plan to pick up on Tuesday, and your telephone number.
The cost is $9 a dozen or $4.50 for a half dozen.
Sponsored by the Good Samaritan Choir, Parishioners, and Friends organizes the annual Paczki Day sale, a local tradition for 25 years.
The annual Good Samaritan Parish Lenten Fish Fry will be held every Friday during Lent from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
