In the afternoon, Montgomery first parked in the Rite Aid parking lot on Merchant Street in Ambridge for an hour and handed out turkeys to whoever wanted them.
A person did not have to demonstrate financial need or have a sob story. Those who didn’t need them could pay it forward and pass the turkey along, she said.
“I didn’t want to pick and choose who to give them to, just to anyone walking by,” she said.
She then moved the operation down the street to the Dollar General parking lot to do the same there. Her 7-year-old son, Vashaun Arrington, and her mother, Tonya Mention, were there in the cold helping her with her grassroots giveaway.
