The Avonworth / Ambridge High School Hockey team posted another impressive come from behind win (6-5) last night on their home ice at Baierl Ice Complex. The win, which came against a strong Knoch team, puts the squad at 3-5-2 (Tied for 5th) heading into the holiday break.
Playing until the final buzzer, Avonworth scored twice in the last 3 minutes of the game to capture the victory. Noah Vith led the scoring with 4 goals with additional tallies added by Landon Hannah and Marty Knuth. Drew Ronk added 2 assists and Matt Lesnick contributed another strong game in goal with 29 saves. It was only Knoch’s second defeat of the season.
The team plays their next three games at home (Jan. 6th, 9th and 27th) and looks to improve in the standings during the home stand. Way to go AA Hockey!!
