Plans are on track to build a hotel in Ambridge that services Trinity School for Ministry and the greater community, with groundbreaking ceremonies scheduled for this fall.
Cobblestone Hotels is slated to build a 31-bedroom hotel on a 1.9-acre plot of land situated off 11th Street between the Trinity campus and Bottom Dollar.
Ambridge Council approved "1111 New Economy Drive" as the official address for the hotel last week and sent written notice to Beaver County.
The Rev. Dr. Laurie Thompson, who is working on the hotel project, said a "de facto" groundbreaking will take place in October. Another ceremonial groundbreaking is planned for November, when one of two builders from the Nebraska-based Cobblestone Hotels is coming to speak to the ministerium in detail about the development.
Thompson, dean of Seminary Advancement, said they are now going through the permitting process, which officials have expected to take several months.
