Ambridge Soccer Boosters hosted the "Labor Day Kickoff Classic". Numerous teams and thousands of fans from the surrounding area traveled to Moe Rubenstein Stadium to participate in the two day soccer tournament.
Ambridge boys soccer kicked off the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Slippery Rock, goals scored by Kyle Harriett and Matt Hooks. In their second game, they took on rival Central Valley with another 2-1 win. Goals were scored by Ameer Caprini and Christian Fisher. The girls played a skilled Beaver team but good ball movement and a strong attack led to a 2-0 win. There second game was a 5-0 victory over Bishop Wuerl North Catholic.
