The federally-funded program, which closes on April 18, offers low-income residents assistance in the form of crisis grants as well as cash grants, sent directly to the utility company.
Additional money may be available if you have an emergency situation and are in jeopardy of losing your heat.
Individuals earning 150 percent of the federal poverty level are eligible for help through LIHEAP. That translates to $17,235 for one person, $23,265 for a family of two, $29,295 for a family of three, $35,325 for a family of four, and $41,355 for a family of five.
