We had such an amazing turn out at the Dinner and Benefit yesterday! Rycker’s big day was more than just that! On multiple occasions I couldn’t help but start to cry! The amount of love that was shown for my son and our family was enough love to last a lifetime! I can’t thank you all enough! We prepared and got enough spaghetti and meatballs for 300-350 and we had well over 400 attendees ( we will have a final count in the next few days) Fr. Joe actually had to run out and get more meatballs and spaghetti, he could have sent someone else but he did it himself, not a local store either he went all the way to Downtown Pittsburgh (Restaurant Depot) almost 25 minutes away, just to make sure that we were able to feed everyone! Again never ceasing to amaze us with his kindness and love for our son and family!
.
I just want to thank all of the volunteers, donors, sponsors, raffle donors, and everyone who made yesterday possible!
Most importantly Rebecca (Becky) Deglmann this girl really stepped up her A-game to have this come together! Jan Culpp who really helped Rebecca by calling people and getting out flyers all around the Baden area, getting several sponsors and donors! Thank you so much! Andrea Zeranickk thank you so much for coming down the night before after mass to help tie up some loose ends and also coming down and volunteering the whole day of the dinner!
Fr. Joseph Carr and all of the amazing parishioners that came to volunteer! (I will be doing a separate thank you for you and Rebecca in days to come!)
Anna at The Christian Mothers who provided atleast 10 volunteers for both shifts and clean up, thank you so much!
Rose and Tony who made the sauce and spaghetti among other things, we are still having people call us and commenting about how good the meatballs and sauce were!!
I want to thank our Congressman Keith Rothfus who came down with his wife to show his support and took the time out of his busy and eventful schedule, to not only show up, but actually talk with me and Jeffrey for over 30 minutes getting to know Rycker and our family. He listened to Rycker’s Story and what we are trying to do to help other families, from the Roo project, to theRycker’s Heart Heroes Foundationn, to the CPR classes we are trying to put together! He is actually in charge of the panel for Down Syndrome on the National Congress in Washington D.C. ! His wife even talked with me about breastfeeding after she picked up one of our I Wear red cards with our ribbons and saw our website on the bottom, and said she will follow our breastfeeding and mommy website and blogs! I mean how awesome is that right?!
I want to thank Felicia Mycyk fromAmbridge Connectionn and theAmbridge Rotary Clubb you guys have been absolutely amazing and such a welcoming bunch of people who I am lucky to call friends now! Thank you!
Lastly I want to thank all the attendees that came to the dinner yesterday! This wouldn’t have been possible without the people that support Rycker, and boy does he have a lot of supporters, I couldn’t help but at one point look over the crowd, all the decorations that were set up, everyone working in unison, all for one little boy, a special little boy, Rycker! A ton of people came down who followed his blog and atleast 4 of his followers/supporters came down to Volunteers, they aren’t just supporters but now great friends, along with the supporters who came down just to eat after hearing about it on the blog and we can’t tell you how much it means to us for you to carve time out of your busy schedules to help! Thank you!
If I haven’t thanked you personally please know that I will try my best to do a separate post to thank every single one of you!
