1. Need to make a reservation? It's not too late to score a spot at a neighborhood restaurant. The Stuffed Pepper, 1601 Duss Ave., is offering a special menu for Saturday, Feb. 15. Choose from shrimp alfredo, New York strip, veal parmesan or prime rib, plus sides and a special Valentine's dessert. Cost is $19.95 a person. Reservations are requested at 724-385-0746.
2. Music lovers: If you're hoping to set the right mood, why not spend a romantic evening by candle light and live music. The Blue Canary Coffeehouse, 2751 Duss Ave., is hosting a "Candlelight Coffee" on Friday, Feb. 14. Enjoy live background music and your favorite coffee drink. Candles will be lit at 7 p.m. The $5 cover helps to pay the musician. There could also be a couple of surprises.
3. Show some love: Many restaurants offer prix-fixe menus for parties of two for Valentine's Day and Talerico's Bar and Grill, 2300 Duss Ave., is no exception. From 4 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, couples can enjoy chicken pepperoni with bread sticks, salad and, of course, dessert. Cost is $22.95.
At Rook's East Side Saloon, 282 Fourth St., a Valentine's Day Couple's Dinner includes an order of two entrees and a complimentary wine, draft beer or well drink for each person.
