Ten students represented the Junior High on February 13th at the MathCounts competition at Penn State University – Beaver. This was the 30th year of MathCounts being sponsored by the Beaver Valley Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers and Auxiliary.
The mission of MathCounts is to increase enthusiasm for and enhance achievement in middle school mathematics throughout the United States. Across the United States, 500-plus local competitions and 57 state competitions are conducted each year. MathCounts problems challenge and inspire students to further develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

The team earned 2nd place and it was comprised of Jacob, Jonathan, Connor, and Natalie.
Overall, four of the Junior High students finished in the Top 10.
Noah finished in 9th place; Gregory finished in 6th place; and two students earned a spot in the state competition in Harrisburg on March 18-19. They were Jonathan Ciani, who finished 4th, and Jacob Beaudway, who finished in 3rd place.
