In 1986, Wuycik purchased the radio station WMBA-AM and transformed it into a news and talk radio station still provides Beaver County citizens a source of news and a venue to express their opinions.
"Donn cared deeply about the success of other business and professionals in Beaver County," Matzie said. "In addition to serving as the president of the Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce, he was also a founder of People United in Shaping and Helping Beaver County, which to this day provides dedicated professionals the opportunity to network and develop philanthropic interests."
Wuycik also spent many years dedicated to public safety as a former police chief for South Heights and former volunteer firefighter in Ambridge. Matzie said Wuycik's legacy will live on in Beaver County, especially around the Fourth of July as he and the PUSH organization created "Beaver County Boom," a noted fireworks celebration in the county.
