Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 11, the day we honor mom for all the amazing things she does. Here are nine ways you can treat your mom in the local area.
1. Get Flowers--Economy Volunteer Fire Department is having its annual Mother's Day flower sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and at 9 a.m. Sunday until they sell out.

The volunteer department orders more than 600 flower baskets and other flower ornaments, which are sold to raise funds. Cost is $15 a basket or two for $25. The 10-inch baskets come from three different growers.
Stop by Station 3 on Conway Wallrose Road or Economy Cleaners on the corner of Duss Avenue and 24th Street in Harmony.
2. Breakfast Kickoff—Start off your Sunday morning with Janice's Sweet Harmony Cafe's special of stuffed French toast from the hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will be serving stuffed pork chops starting at 11 a.m. Located at 2820 Duss Ave.

The event at 2930 Beaver Road is sponsored by the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos, which means friend of the poor.

The menu includes slow roasted prime rib, oven roasted turkey breast, chicken marsala, crab and tilapia croquette, pasta primavera, scalloped potatoes, cornbread stuffing, Caribbean blend vegetable, garden salad and appetizers of cheese and pepperoni and vegetable displays.
