We were dispatched by Economy police department for a multi-vehicle collision in the 1800 block of Ridge Road Extension. This 2012 Nissan Rogue collide with this 2014 Ford Taurus. The Rogue sustained heavy damage to the driver front. The entire driver front suspension came detached from the Rogue and came to rest in the middle of roadway. The vehicle was leaking a large amount of brake fluid, oil, and axle grease onto the roadway. The Taurus sustained heavy damage to the driver side. The driver front suspension was also nearly detached from the Taurus. It was leaking some oil and brake fluid as well from the damage. The passenger side of the Taurus struck a road sign and the hillside, also sustaining damage. The driver of the Taurus was entrapped inside the vehicle. Economy Fire Department worked very quickly and efficiently to remove both doors of the Taurus to gain access to the injured driver and his occupants to free them from the wreckage. There was a severe amount of debris scattered for a vast distance on the roadway. All all leaking fluids were encapsulated with environmentally friendly absorbent. The recovered absorbent was contained in an approved DOT drum for proper disposal. Our Emergency Response Unit was on scene with certified technicians in order to properly handle the leak situation and to secure all detached parts. The detached suspension, front door, and rear door were loaded into the ERU to be taken back to the shop and placed with the proper vehicle. Both vehicles were transported back to the shop via flatbeds. Huge thank you to Economy police department, Harmony Township police department, Ambridge police department, Economy fire department, Economy ambulance, and Medic Rescue for their outstanding jobs done on scene.

The driver of the Taurus was taken from the scene via ambulance. We are unsure of his condition at this time, but he was conscious and stable at the scene. Please pray for him. The other occupants of the Taurus were a woman and her young daughter. They did not appear to be injured and are expected to be okay. We spoke to the father of the driver of the Rogue. She is very sore but otherwise expected to be okay. Please keep everyone involved in your prayers for a successful and quick recovery. Cars can be replaced, people cannot.
