Kimberly Heller, organizer and church member, said girls have numerous new and gently worn formal gowns to choose from.
She said the dresses were donated from Victory Family Church in Cranberry Township, which held a similar event on Friday called "The Enchanted Evening."
"We had over 1,000 dresses donated and we didn't have that many people show up. We have a lot of dresses left," Heller said.
Heller, who also helps with the Cranberry event, said she wanted to see the dresses actually get used by high school girls before donated to a thrift store like usual.
Gowns, ranging in colors, styles and sizes, will be displayed in the church parking lot. The bathroom in the church's café will serve as a fitting room for girls who want to try dresses on.

The free event is located at 592 Beaver Road in Ambridge and open to the public.
